Typically I try to rush mechanical to 50, but usually find 2 of 3 required components (chassis, handlebars, seat) before I manage to unlock it by skill. Maybe change up mechanical skill to unlock each of the minibike parts at different levels. Also I tend to skip right over the iron fireaxe staying with a stone axe until I unlock steel tools, buy one, find one especially when you account for iron tool stamina drain. Also because I am trying to rush construction skill I stay with a stone axe longer than normal so I typically skip right over scrap iron tools completely.

I feel their resource cost versus their usefulness at low levels isn't worth it compared to a stone axe. I just think the idea of making a slicing tool from bone really is impractical (piercing / stabbing weapon with a bone yes, club yes, just not slicing). Replace bone shiv with scrap iron shiv or stone knapped shiv. Also remove bones from Zeds because making a bone shiv from an infected Zed and then using that to cut up a stag seems like a really stupid way to gain an infection. Remove animal fat from chopping up Zeds and only get it from animals. With the availability of gathering 50+ fertilizers in the burnt biome in an hour I am never going to bother making fertilizer myself again. Remove both rotted flesh and human poop from the game (including their recipes for fertilizer). You are basically stuck on archery unless you dump 10 points, find skill books, or buy a crossbow. Compound bows do drop although more rare than AK-47s and more likely drop as a part, which in order to assemble means you already have some archery skill. Crossbows don't drop anywhere but you can buy them.

Wooden bows don't drop anywhere and are not on trader inventories. The only way to raise archery is to either find / buy a crossbow or compound bow.

Without them you can never get a combination code to open the extra survival briefcases you find.Īdd Wooden bows to random drop loot, or add them to trader inventories. With the change of normal dead bodies to the spawn system, dead survivors no longer exist. Change that so they will spawn in any city. With hub cities removed, there is a whole slew of special type Zeds (monstrous brute, etc) that no longer spawn in the game.
